Do you know I was reading your blog for months before "the penny dropped" (as the English say) and I realized Megan was your daughter? It was just after I finished reading "Bury Me Deep" and you had made a comment along the lines of "I had lunch with Megan..."
I agree about James Ellroy. I went through an Ellroy phase several years ago and read everything by him I could get my hands on. The book about his mother's murder and his subsequent attempts to come to terms with it is, to me, his best.
I think her exact words when I told her I was a fan of his were "OK we are going to have to talk about him now"
ReplyDeletePatti,
ReplyDeleteWonderful article!

Great post, Patti. I left a comment on Megan's piece on the Barnes & Noble site.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mike.
ReplyDeleteDeb, MY DARK PLACES is my favorite.
Your daughter? I didn't know. She amazes me. This lovely little woman write such rich, tough, raw scenes it's hard to believe. You must be very proud.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm very proud of her. Thanks for your kind words.
