There was also two Swedish movie companies involved, and two German and one French. I can however imagine that the idea was originally for a TV mini series which turned into a movie project and since SVT was one of the producers, it was eventually shown as a TV series. As they say - "it's complicated". But a TV movie? Not really.Anders Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06164550847416446757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-30428131427556402142014-02-09T11:48:28.829-05:002014-02-09T11:48:28.829-05:00In response to Anders E (and boy do I envy you tha...In response to Anders E (and boy do I envy you that view) - wasn't SVT one of the producers right from the start? I'll admit, I was relying on Wikipedia here so wouldn't be the first time they got it wrong: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_and_AlexanderSergio (Tipping My Fedora)http://bloodymurder.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-34180452906880156102014-02-07T09:42:23.282-05:002014-02-07T09:42:23.282-05:00Actually, this was not originally shot for TV. The...Actually, this was not originally shot for TV. The 188 minute version opened in theaters on December 17th, 1982. The 326 minute version then opened in theaters exactly one year later. This longer version was then shown as a four part mini series on TV in December 1984. However, this longer version was the firs complete edit, so it can be said that it is the original.<br />For a view of where a large part of it was shot, search for "Trädgårdsgatan, Uppsala" and zoom into street view. It's a few minutes walk from where I'm sitting right now.Anders Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06164550847416446757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-55573953233492072492014-02-07T09:40:29.826-05:002014-02-07T09:40:29.826-05:00I will be sure to check out this film, thanks.I will be sure to check out this film, thanks.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10151167876515389804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-24853059131280055022014-02-07T08:12:01.836-05:002014-02-07T08:12:01.836-05:00Oh, that is a classic film Patti!Oh, that is a classic film Patti!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-15305576966618244212014-02-07T03:45:30.676-05:002014-02-07T03:45:30.676-05:00Great film, great filmmaker (even if it was origin...Great film, great filmmaker (even if it was originally shot for TV) - thanks Patti.Sergio (Tipping My Fedora)http://bloodymurder.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
