As you know, Patti, I hope your spirit, and yours too, Lisa, isn't crushed when Obama is elected, as I believe he will be, and turns out to be just another Democratic President, hapa or not, though the recent track record of Democratic Presidents is easy to improve upon. It would be nice if I was wrong, but for some reason people do have a tendency to lie to themselves about Clinton and Kennedy's records that they don't seem to need to about Carter nor Johnson's. Don't quite Get that.

Having just seen a C-SPAN cablecast interview with Ralph Nader with Tabitha Soren of all people, I see Nader has managed to sharpen his message and learned how to deliver it rather less cataleptically...making my choice to vote Nader/Gonzalez that much easier.Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-1309073596506295762008-10-05T18:43:00.000-04:002008-10-05T18:43:00.000-04:00thanks for sharing this, Patti. If we can elect an African-American man and help him to be one of the great Presidents, it has to be a very good thing for our country and especially our children.pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-73433993626505679802008-10-04T21:44:00.000-04:002008-10-04T21:44:00.000-04:00I can sense almost a shyness coming from you about...I can sense almost a shyness coming from you about how this commercial affects you. When I see videos like this, I am overcome with thoughts and feelings about the possibilities for this country that I've never had before. It's as if the cynicism and the feeling of betrayal and anger that have become such an ingrained part of my attitude toward the government for most of my adult life are hard to shake off. When I see these kinds of videos, I can't help but become emotional and hopeful. And the closer this election gets, there's a growing anxiety and a fear that if Obama doesn't win, those hopes are going to be crushed and we'll be back to the same mean-spirited, me-first cynicism that has pervaded our culture for too long. I really think he can provide the kind of leadership that I've never witnessed in a President that we are going to need to make it through the next few years.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00665632105920753931noreply@blogger.com
