Near the end, the villain (John Carroll) even notes the irony when he wryly grumbles something like, "Who would have thought a woman like Mary Allison could cause all this trouble."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-34461816705127166262014-07-11T10:06:22.107-04:002014-07-11T10:06:22.107-04:00Glad to see another Charles Williams book on the l...Glad to see another Charles Williams book on the list. He was a master. And then there's MONA. Back in the olden days, before the Internet, before block was "discovered" and reprinted, before eBooks made just about everything available, I had trouble locating a copy of MONA. The copy I had was missing about 30 pages right in the middle. I was so desperate that I picked up a paperback edition in Spanish, but I didn't read it. Eventually I found a complete GM copy. I have the Hard Case edition, too, of course. And another one from a different publisher, I believe.mybillcriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-28686659176020036472014-07-11T09:58:06.219-04:002014-07-11T09:58:06.219-04:00Well, Charles, they wouldn't be too fatal if y...Well, Charles, they wouldn't be too fatal if you didn't...

My entry is up and at 'em, albeit foreshortened for now by time-chop and other extenuating (and in one tomcat's case, micturating) circumstances:

http://socialistjazz.blogspot.com/2014/07/fffemmefataleb-beyond-night-six-tales.html

FFF{emme}F(atale)B: BEYOND THE NIGHT: Six Tales of Horror by Cornell Woolrich (Avon 1959)Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33110302.post-2536101029359492172014-07-11T09:45:55.269-04:002014-07-11T09:45:55.269-04:00I think I have a weak spot for femme fatales.I think I have a weak spot for femme fatales.Charles Gramlichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02052592247572253641noreply@blogger.com
