So I'm writing to tell people of the death of William Hjortsberg, author of Falling Angel, which became the De Niro film, Angel Heart. Gatz, as he was known, was my most treasured friend. He died of pancreatic cancer at age 76. He was primarily a screenwriter (Legends, for example).; 7:56 PG
