There was a novelty song by Bernard Cribbins (big name in English comedy, never made it on this side of the pond) called "Right Said Fred" about some workmen (incompetently) trying to move a piano into a house. That's where the guys got their name.
The story I heard behind the tune was that the band members either owned or worked at a gym where models and actors would come to exercise. The song was about how those patrons behaved.
And still a great song.
ReplyDeleteAlways makes me laugh!
