One of the criticisms levelled against it was that it was just more elevator music, but what a lot of people conveniently forget is that elevator music is actually quite pleasant.
I'm with Cap'n Bob: I never understood why so many people seem to hate it so much (and still do, apparently). It's catchy.
In my opinion there are so many worse songs from the mid-70s that people like but I hate, like Peter Frampton's "Show Me the Way," which has never failed to make me turn off the radio when it comes on.
Horrible song. And they won a Grammy as best new artist beating out Elvis Costello.

ReplyDeleteA lot of people hate that song but not me. I think it's great. Love the harmonies.

ReplyDeleteDepends on how long you're stuck in the elevator!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked it. Never in elevators so I haven't heard it much in the last thirty years.
ReplyDeleteOH, my goodness, I haven't thought of this song in years!

Interestingly I made a second comment on here. But I didn't. Second response to Tony was not done by me.
