It's the Philly sound with the MFSB Orchestra (best known for "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" aka the theme from Soul Train). The next year, the Trampps would go full disco with "Disco Inferno" which was featured on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
I like this choice!
