And this is what the fourth looks like in my hood. These are called fish flies and they cover every surface for about 2-3 weeks around now. We tolerate them by saying the more there are, the better the lake conditions.
That is Phil taking the photo. It is the window of CVS, which hoses them off every few hours. They also crunch under your tires. Nice life, huh.
Have a great fourth.
Fish flies? Don't think I have seen any. Happy 4th of July, Patti! Do you get to watch the fireworks?
ReplyDeleteYikes! What a life indeed! Happy Fourth to you and Phil, Patti!
ReplyDeleteRather fish flies than swarming termites! Shudder!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July to all!
Deb
Happy Fourth to you and Phil! Where are the birds? You'd think they'd feast on those fish flies!
ReplyDeleteYou too Patti, but ick. That is pretty gross.
ReplyDeleteI'm just happy the promised Cicada Invasion (which would be a good name for a rock band or a SyFy Channel movie) hasn't happened yet.
Jeff M.
Good question, George. Even the birds find them icky.
ReplyDeletemakes me wanna go fishing.
ReplyDeleteHope your holiday is in top form, Patti.
ReplyDeleteThat is very familiar. We get them for about 10 days on Lake Winnipeg and this could be the weekend they arrive. They stick to every surface. Glad I went to the cottage last weekend for our Canadian holiday and won't be there for yours. Happy July 4th.
ReplyDeleteWow. Just the opposite of us: we intend to do some fly fishing today!
ReplyDeleteThe best to you and yours, Patti.
Ugh, look ugly. In spite of them, hope you had a great 4th.
