Book Covers/Jackets


I doubt there is any jacket more memorable or iconic than the 1925 one for TGG. What comes close?

    The Gone with the Wind paperback cover, which takes a lot from the movie poster--predominantly red, Rhett holding Scarlett in his arms, little vignettes from the book/movie scattered all about. I believe the dust jacket of the first edition hardcover was much more sedate--but not nearly as memorable.

  4. gotta admit, I thought the Great Gatsby cover was pretty horrid. That blue and those pinched red lips. eek! :)

  5. I like the covers of early western novels as well as any covers with hand-drawn illustrations. I feel like reading those books.
