Susan Sarandon

I discovered Sarandon as a stay- at- home mommy. She was in a soap called A World Apart and immediately lit up the stage.

She has made more movies I have enjoyed than any other contemporary actress. None more so than THELMA AND LOUISE.
She is smart, savy, sexy. What more can you ask?

What is your favorite Sarandon film. Here's the list.

Thelma and Louise has to me my favorite, too.

When I looked at the list, I noticed she's had a ton of small parts. I think that's impressive--to bring something to a movie or TV show without having to take up all the limelight.

I first saw her in her first film, JOE, the movie that made Peter Boyle famous. I'd go with:

Atlantic City
Bull Durham
Thelma and Louise

Those would be my top three too. And maybe PRETTY BABY.
I remember Joe too. Really a rough film for the time.

My favs, in order: Bull Durham, Bull Durham, and Bull Durham.

Though I can't claim to have seen them all - or even half - it's Atlantic City for me.

That said, I'd most like to see The Hunger. Memories of my youth, you understand...

"Dead Man Walking" and "The Client"

Bull Durham. Not only my favorite Susan Sarandon movie, but one of my favorite movies period. Not just a great baseball movie, but a great movie about life in general. And how could you not love a movie that features the all-time great classic line, "The world is made for people who aren't cursed with self-awareness."

I'm with Brian: ATLANTIC CITY. She was great in BULL DURHAM and THELMA AND LOUISE, but there's something very special about Sarandon's performance in ATLANTIC CITY.

I like her quite a bit. She doesn't often make the kinds of movies I watch but when I've seen her I think she's a very good actress.

BULL DURHAM -- "You could look it up."

I bet lemons had something to do with that George.

ATLANTIC CITY

She made a pretty good femme fatale in Twilight.

No love for The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Bull Durham
Atlantic City

I was expecting a vote for that one, Randy.

There is definitely something to be said for THE HUNGER, still Tony Scott's best film. And in such films as WHITE PALACE and ANYWHERE BUT HERE, she elevates the production immeasurably. The one I'll cite for this purpose, however, is LORENZO'S OIL, almost born to be a "forgotten" film (though BOB ROBERTS and CRADLE WILL ROCK were great agit-prop fun)...though the one I suspect I need to see and haven't is LIGHT SLEEPER...

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK an improvement on the novel, if Nicholson's appeal to the trio still requiring some supernatural intervention (though my ex, with whom I saw it when we were still solid, said there was still a certain something about balding, corpulent JN, though certainly my own thinning hair and excess bodymass didn't put her off...).

COMPROMISING POSITIONS might well make my top five, at least. Both she in it and its totality are charming. (And no cop-out ending, unlike a certain rather impressive film in her obras.)

Atlantic City's the one I remember seeing her topless. I didn't think the movie was better than average, though. I liked Bull Durham and Thelma and Louise better.

Atlantic City for me also.

But the list makes me wonder if there are any movies she wasn't in.
