I saw this frothy play at the Meadowbrook Theater in Rochester, MI. in January 2010. It was lighter than air but enjoyable telling the story of an airline pilot with a stewardess (as they were then called) in every city. Originally a movie in the sixties, it wore its age pretty well.
We saw it on Broadway in 2008 with Mark Rylance's Tony-winning performance standing out in a cast that included Bradley Whitford, Mary McCormack, Christine Baranski and Gina Gershon.
Then a couple of years later we saw Rylance give two more brilliant and utterly different performances, in LA BETE and JERUSALEM. The man is a genius.
Rylance is a fantastic actor - very glad I got to see him in JERUSALEM but didn't catch him in BOEING BOEING. Strictly speaking, this was always a play as the 1965 movie starring Jerry Lewis and Tony Curtis was adapted from the French farce by Marc Camoletti.

Patti - Oh, this is one I"m not familiar with. And you know, sometimes "light" and "frothy" are just what the doctor ordered...
