The only internationally-famous band who've attempted, drunkenly, to call my then-teenaged brother at my family's home (he'd sent them some artwork they liked) only to awaken our parents (at 2am-ish).
My father was not so very starstruck to be speaking with them at that hour, in his semi-conscious state. Pity I didn't still live there...I would've chatted with a drunken Kim Deal with little reservation, and made for a slightly better interchange.

ReplyDeleteGreat song, but I find myself more drawn to their later material. "Letter to Memphis," "Velouria," and "Alec Eiffel" are some of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteNow you're talkin' my language. Doolittle is an almost perfect album.

ReplyDeleteI aim to be eclectic. Actually their current tour reminded me of them.
