We really do have the same taste, Patti! I love the music in the movie and still remember it vividly. Actually we watched it several years ago and I remembered most of it from 1969. Sylvia Miles, John McGiver, Bob Balaban, Barnard Hughes.
"I'm walkin' here!" is a line I've used many times. In New York it's always appropriate.
I aalways assumed Nilsson also wrote "Everybody's Talkin" because he was a songwriter and he sang it, but it was actually written by the late Fred Neil.
Harry Nilsson did not write perhaps his most famous song, "I Can't Live If Living Is Without You." He sings it with such feeling and emotion, it's hard to believe he didn't sob those words out.
Absolutely. I like all the music by John Barry. I even have a John Barry station on Pandora and sometimes listen to it while I write.

Patti - Oh, I love this music!! And the movie. I just loved Dustin Hoffman's portrayal of Ratso...
ReplyDeleteBet I haven't heard this song since 1969. And I remember the movie like it was yesterday. Thanks...
ReplyDeleteI also like the two songs Harry Nilsson sang for the movie, "Everybody's Talkin'" and "I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City."
ReplyDeleteWasn't he gorgeous? And Dustin really nailed that part, Margot. Nilsson was brilliant.

I am very remiss in not knowing who wrote or even sang a song. I just know that I like it.
