Well, I love love love my latest cover, but I have to say one of my all time faves is the Hound of the Baskervilles I gave to my pal Stephanie, the Holmes-o-phile. I have to scan the rest of my pulpy paperbacks before I get rid of them. There are some lovely covers.

Interesting to note that on some the nicest covers the title doesn't pop the way it should. I do like THE THIN MAN there.

Todd Mason
Delightful. Fantasy, horror and science fiction make for a larger pallet.
ReplyDeleteAnd Diane (odd typo, but not alas rare for me) and Leo Dillon didn't restrict themselves thus. They are multiple Caldecott winners.
ReplyDeleteJack Gaughan, from the first issue of GALAXY I owned (his work for the magazine in its handsomest period, 1970-1972, is stellar):

ReplyDeleteMost of my favorites are old SF covers from the 50s and 60s. Great old silver rockets and folks in space suits.
ReplyDeletePatti - Hmm...I really like this one: http://www.amazon.com/One-Flew-Over-Cuckoos-Nest/dp/0451163966 Of course.... I like the book very much, too..
ReplyDeleteI have Kieran's problem. But you picked one of my favorites: The Great Gatsby.
ReplyDeleteThe Galaxy one and The Hound of the Baskervilles are great.

One Night With Nora looks good to me. They're all pretty cool, though.
ReplyDeleteI like some of the old Daw covers -- Games Psyborgs Play, for instance. Pierr Barbet.
