Here are two I like a lot.
How about you? I'll post them here.

  2. Interesting to note that on some the nicest covers the title doesn't pop the way it should. I do like THE THIN MAN there.

Or see the hotlink. The Dillons are not quite the polar opposites of Robert McGinnis, but danm.

  6. Delightful. Fantasy, horror and science fiction make for a larger pallet.

  7. And Diane (odd typo, but not alas rare for me) and Leo Dillon didn't restrict themselves thus. They are multiple Caldecott winners.

Jack Gaughan, from the first issue of GALAXY I owned (his work for the magazine in its handsomest period, 1970-1972, is stellar):

  8. Well, I love love love my latest cover, but I have to say one of my all time faves is the Hound of the Baskervilles I gave to my pal Stephanie, the Holmes-o-phile. I have to scan the rest of my pulpy paperbacks before I get rid of them. There are some lovely covers.

  9. Most of my favorites are old SF covers from the 50s and 60s. Great old silver rockets and folks in space suits.

  14. This has always been a favorite, and the image was used on the paperback cover as well.

  15. One Night With Nora looks good to me. They're all pretty cool, though.

I like some of the old Daw covers -- Games Psyborgs Play, for instance. Pierr Barbet.
