with my story "Escapes." As well as ones from Mike Dennis, B.J. Bourg and a host of other writers. Stop by.

  1. Loved it, Patti! Was modern, but felt old. Just like Rural Indiana, heh.

  2. Thanks. Love that part of Indiana-Shipshewana, Walmart and Chicago bearing down on it.

  4. MystercalE does great covers, don't they?

  5. Another very fine read Patti.

I'm curious as to how many words you write on a typical day?

  6. Didn't see that coming, great ending. I like how your stories consistently have that understated quality to them, and maintain it right up through the payoff. It makes the climaxes much more effective than writers who keep trying to ratchet things up every chance they get.

Now that I've read BURY ME DEEP, I can see a few stylistic similarities with Megan's work. You really ought to keep plugging away at that novel.

  7. M-T-none. Day job.
W-S, I probably spend about 3-5 hours. Not sure how many words though. A lot of it is editing. I rewrite about ten times more than I write.
Megan can spend 8 hours. Oh, had I only started earlier. Thanks for the kind words.

A fine read. I enjoyed it.

  9. Thanks, Travis. Still thinking of how to utilize excess wind power in Amarillo.

  11. Me, too. They have an eclectic taste. And they have lovely coverwork and nice coverage.

  12. I would guess I spend about four hours a day myself. On the weekend (and more time) that easily goes up to six or seven.

  13. The eyes give out after a while. And maybe the brain.
