the original list contained "no" books by women? That's bizarre, and certainly beyond any statistical probablility. Someone wasn't paying attention to the real world of literature.
I respond at Novels, Stories, and More. The Guerilla Girls raise some interesting issues by posting their list. My comments at my blog (and at the GG's blog) are intended as provocative but only in the most positive and constructive sense of the word. Please feel free to join the discussion.
The GGs (like the Go-Go's had been) have been at this for a while, now...glad to see they're still ready for the good fight, and keeping their spirits up.
wv: horks (I'm sure they do, in responsse to such stimulus)
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that Guerrilla Girls on Tour was just republishing the WILLA wiki list of Great Books by Women that Publisher’s Weekly Missed in 2009. Folks should feel free to add other great titles to our open edit response!

ReplyDeleteI can't believe it either. I love that Guerilla Girls blog - thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteI see Megan's book is listed. As it should be!

They included Evanovich on a "best of" list??? The list lost all credibility with me when I saw that.
ReplyDeleteI think they are making a point more than choosing any best books. They certainly do like poetry.
